Nestled in the Kep countryside, in the heart of generous nature, Chamkar Damnak is much more than a simple plantation. It’s a place for living, sharing and passion, where organic farming, respect for traditions and hospitality come together every day.

Located within the prestigious Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) area for Kampot pepper, our farm carries on agricultural know-how passed down through several generations, while developing a modern, sustainable approach that respects the environment.

A plantation steeped in history

Before the war, our property was part of Chamkar Hâng, the “Hâng plantation”, named after its original owner, the family’s Chinese grandfather.

Even today, this history guides the way we work.

Our ambition is not to produce more, but to produce better.

We favour organic farming, where each crop benefits from a preserved natural environment.

One of the plantation’s distinctive features is the use of a fertiliser that is as natural as it is exceptional: that of our elephants, raised in Ratanakiri province, where our family has also been established for many years.

A generous land

Pepper naturally remains Chamkar Damnak’s flagship crop.

We produce the four main varieties of Kampot pepper:

• Black pepper
• White pepper
• Red pepper
• Green pepper

Appreciated by chefs and spice lovers alike, our peppers are mainly distributed through word of mouth.

But our plantation doesn’t stop there.

As the seasons go by, we also grow:

• mangoes;
• durians;
• mangosteens;
• jackfruit trees;
• dragon fruit;
• banana trees;
• nearly 10,000 sandalwood trees.

This diversity contributes to the ecological richness of our estate and makes it possible to fully showcase the exceptional terroir of Kep-Kampot.

A farm where life is good

Chamkar Damnak also welcomes travellers who want to discover Cambodia differently.

Our guesthouse has five rooms:

• four rooms upstairs;
• one ground-floor room with a private bathroom.

Meals are served in a traditional sala, open onto the garden, where everyone can fully enjoy the surrounding peace and quiet.

Here, the pace is set by nature.

Days are lulled by birdsong, the rustle of leaves and the scents of the plantations.

Accommodation that respects its environment

True to our philosophy, we have chosen a 100% solar power supply.

The entire farm runs on photovoltaic energy.

To limit our energy consumption, the rooms are equipped with fans rather than air conditioning.

This choice fully reflects our desire to preserve the environment while offering a comfortable stay.

A tropical garden

The garden surrounding the house was created gradually over the years.

You’ll discover a collection of tropical plants brought back from different countries in Asia, as well as from the Indian Ocean.

At the heart of the property, a small natural spring bubbles up between two hills.

It supplies the house and provides the water needed for the plantation’s various crops.

A human-scale family farm

Chamkar Damnak now covers nearly 20 hectares, in the Damnak Chang Euv district.

Our farm employs:

• three permanent employees;
• around ten seasonal workers during harvests.

This deliberately family-style organisation allows us to maintain artisanal production and real control over the quality of each of our crops.
