An ethical approach

A conservation mission

Respectful tourism

Founded by Chenda and Pierre-Yves Clais, the Airavata Foundation was born from a profound encounter with the forests of Ratanakiri and the communities who live there. Over the years, they have witnessed the gradual disappearance of domestic elephants—once essential to local life. Today, Airavata works to protect these last elephants and their natural environment.

Protect the last elephants

Protect the last elephants

Terres Rouges actively supports the protection of the region’s last domestic elephants. Beyond the animals, this commitment helps safeguard:

✔ a unique forest territory
✔ local know-how
✔ a balance between nature and development

The protected areas around Banlung and the Katieng waterfalls play an essential role in conserving biodiversity.
Today, our commitment contributes to:
✔ Protecting 4 elephants in the province
✔ Preserving more than 100 hectares of forest
✔ Supporting the local communities who live alongside them
✔ Developing respectful tourism
